I LOVED Arthur. He is absolutely lovable and endearing and awkwardly perfect. I just wanted to reach in and give him a big hug. Russ is the perfect blend of a rough (but oh so sexy) exterior with a gooey center. A solid guy, kind, and confident of who he is. These two together is perfection.Arthur sends an hilarious cover letter to Cake My Day when he sees a Help Wanted post on Craigslist. He regrets his impulsive honesty almost immediately after he hits send, but he's incredulous when he gets a response back within minutes to come in for an interview. Arthur wears his desperation as much as he wears his suit to the interview, and Russ, against his better (professional) judgment, hires Arthur, lack of any baking experience whatsoever be damned.
These two are immediately attracted to each other, and it's amusing to see Arthur's not-so-subtle attempts to, well, tempt Russ into action. Of course, Russ fights him the whole time, but really, he has no chance against Arthur's earnestness or his own true desires. Watching the push and pull between these two is delightful. I loved it.
Suffice to say that all's well that ends well. No one is more deserving of happiness than Arthur, and Russ is perfect for him. After meeting Arthur's horrendous folks, I couldn't be happier for the warm embrace that Arthur receives from Russ' family. The end made me tear up happily for the guys. This is pure feel good territory and I loved it.
This is my first Harper Logan story. I can't wait to read the others.

It's a formula book. Boy meets boy boy loses boy boy gets boy back after some trial and I love it. Warm characters and an easy cozy read on a winter weekend.
I don't often give out 5 star ratings. However I through my enjoyed this story. The characters were believable and authentic, the story well thought out. There were a few grammatical errors perhaps due to formatting but easily overlooked in the course of the read. It had great flow and I didn't want to put it down.
If you've read anything by Harper Logan before and liked/loved it, then you'll absolutely like/love this too. Once again I received an arc copy for review and once again I had to buy the book anyway. In fact at this point, Harper Logan's books are so consistently good that she is now an auto-buy for me. Yes, I have purchased many of her other books that I have not had the opportunity to first read as an arc. That says it all to me. Her characters are always lovable, relate-able, funny, down to earth. Her books are just always a guaranteed good time. I know I'm going to enjoy it. I know I'm going to end it with a huge smile. I know that if I don't know what else to read and I'm in a funk that one of her books will pick me up and give me some warm happy feels.
4.5 stars! I really enjoy this author's writing. Arthur and Russ made me smile and frustrated me. Russ is reluctant and stubborn. Arthur is determined to make him see how right they could be together. I loved the ending and that Author not only got his man, but an entire family who loved him.
Adult read
I spent my entire day unable to put this book down! Russ and Arthur are so wonderful for each other, and I absolutely love it! I also really enjoyed the descriptions of the bakery; the names of the cupcakes, the descriptions of pastrys, and the customers!
Harper Logan always weaves a good tale and this is no exception The lead up to Russ and Arthur whilst long is a great lesson in character development. You know that there are going to be ups and downs in their relationship but their tale fits like a glove. The HEA really is a sweet deal. If you haven't got the message yet read it, it's a fabulous storey.
I read this book through a convoluted course of events. I like to read books in order. I was reading 'Runaway Heart' (2016) about Mark and Jesse. But then the guys met Oscar and Ben (who already owned an art gallery), so I looked for their book. I started reading 'Driven' (Oscar and Ben written in 2016) when they mentioned a break-in at the bakery (that Arthur walked in on) but this scene was BEFORE the gallery opening, so I thought that Arthur and Russ MUST have met first, so I started reading 'Sweet Deal' (2017??), but one of the scenes is Russ and Arthur being at a wedding for Jesse and Mark...huh?? Overall, great story but, please Harper Logan, next time you put characters in the same town, and have them run in into each other (or mention other characters) make sure it fits in already established time lines.
